In it together campaign
In it together is a six-month COVID-19 helping relief project targeting pregnant adolescents and young mothers aged 10 – 24 years living in slum communities of Kagugube, Kitamanyangamba, Kivulu I, Kivulu II and industrial area in the central division of Kampala city, Uganda. The project is in response to the covid-19 crisis which has intensified the living conditions of slum dwellers due to incapacitated livelihoods. The overall expected impact of this campaign is to support over 500 young people with household items to help them deal with the current situation.
Afrislum complements government efforts through this short term COVID-19 relief campaign. Afrislum works with local leaders in the selected slum communities to identify vulnerable pregnant adolescents and young mothers to be supported with household items. The assorted items include maize flour, rice, beans, soap, salt, sugar, cooking oil among others.
