Afrislum Background

Afrislum Uganda is an indigenous urban-poor focused, non-profit organization committed to implement high quality evidence-based holistic approaches that address both human, social and economic assets of an individual living in informal settlements, the slums.

Afrislum Uganda was founded in 2018 and attained an NGO status in 2020. Our goal is to generate evidence to influence policy decisions and innovations that improve the quality of life of the urban poor in Uganda.

Our Vision
Afrislum envisages cities in which the young population in informal settlements is healthy, informed, empowered and has equal access to social services and opportunities.
