We are Afrislum Uganda.

Afrislum Uganda is an indigenous urban-poor focused, non-profit organization committed to implement high quality evidence-based holistic approaches that address both human, social and economic assets of an individual living in informal settlements, the slums.

Our focus:
The primary target audience of Afrislum Uganda is children and young people below 25 years in urban informal settlements.

Afrislum Uganda was founded in 2018 and attained an NGO status in 2020. Our goal is to generate evidence to influence policy decisions and innovations that improve the quality of life of the urban poor in Uganda.

Women Rise COVID-19 Slum Project
  • The Women rise COVID-19 slum project is a two-year project implemented by a consortium of partners including Makerere University School of Public Health, University of Waterloo, Uganda AIDS Commission, and Afrislum Uganda.
In it together campaign
  • In it together is a six-month COVID-19 helping relief project targeting pregnant adolescents and young mothers aged 10 - 24 years living in slum communities of Kagugube, Kitamanyangamba, Kivulu I, Kivulu II and industrial area in the central division of Kampala city, Uganda
CBT innovator project
  • The CBT innovator project is a two-year project implemented with support from the ViiV Healthcare Positive Action targeting slum adolescent girls and young women aged 15 - 24 years attending PMTCT and EID clinics at public health facilities in Kampala, Uganda.
Step in her shoes project
  • Step in her shoes is a three-year post COVID-19 project targeting young mothers aged 15 - 24 years living in slum communities of Kagugube and Katanga in Kampala city, Uganda.
CBT Momentum project
  • The CBT momentum project is a three-year project implemented with support from the ViiV Healthcare Positive Action targeting underserved mothers attending PMTCT and EID clinics at public health facilities in Kampala and Mukono districts in Uganda.
